The survey found that a line of very slightly sunken ground approaches the circle from the southeast. This variation is invisible to the naked eye. When snow melts, it can often reveal the tiny variations in slope and surface. This photograph shows the straight line leading directly towards the gap in the circle. Some kind of entrance or gateway?

This alignment shows the cup-marked stone (foreground) and the largest stone(s), to the west. These stones are diametrically opposite. The melting snow shows a clear circular indentation inside the circle.
